Blessings When We Obey

I want to share with you a very simple phrase in Deuteronomy 6 and verse 3. It says, “Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee”. It teaches me that the word of God is given for my good. And when I obey it, there are blessings. Of course, I believe the chief blessing is that we would encounter Jesus. That we would see Christ, behold Him in His glory and His Spirit can transform us from glory to glory into the same image. That I think is the chief goal of studying the Scripture. That we may see Him, that we may be transformed into His likeness. This passage thus however also teach us when we obey there are blessings, here and now as well. This is what Joshua was told as well, isn’t it? That “this book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua 1:8)

Of course, success the way God defines it and not necessarily the way we want or we define it. Nevertheless, it is clear that there are blessings when we obey and on the other hand, there are consequences when we don’t. Doesn’t mean when we don’t obey, we are loved less or we are condemned. But it does mean that when we fail to obey, we fail also to avail ourselves to the blessings of God.

You see, my friends, God has blessed us with the Bible so that you may know, so that you may obey, so that you may be blessed. So trust and obey. This Bible is so precious, I pray it will lead you into the blessings God has wonderfully placed in store for you. God bless.
